![]() ![]() Before this began occurring I could have 20+ tabs open and still be booking along. The slowness, freezing, and hanging does not correlate to the number of tabs I have open on my browser. When I look at the "Applications" tab I occasionally see a program "not responding". My commit charge may be 700/2431, and there is still a problem. ![]() ![]() In fact, I don't believe I have ever seen the CPU running high. My CPU usage can be as low as 2-25, and there is no improvement. If I check my "Task Manager" I don't see anything indicating a problem. It can literally be minutes passing before I can move from one browser page to the next or before I can open a new Word document. Whether it is Word, email, opening a program from my "All Programs" menu, opening the "Start" menu, trying to access the "Control Panel" and so on, things all respond strangely slow, or they freeze or hang. I use to run Firefox, and it would sit there for such a lengthy amount of time trying to load pages that I thought there might be some strange Firefox issue, but I knew it was not just my browser because I had the same slowness, freezing, and hangs when attempting to use any program on my notebook. It is frustrating/bordering on intolerable. My computer moves, for the most part, at a snail's speed. I have a 144GB C Drive capacity with 51.1GB free, however I only recently downloaded a lot of photos and videos onto my notebook, which used a significantly larger amount of disk space than was previously used when this problem began. My system is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3. The moderator there suggested I come hang out in another forum and see if someone could help me figure out the issue and resolve it.įor many many months (Perhaps a year or longer now) I have had a terrible time with my notebook. I thought to try that first, but we didn't find any viruses and we did all we could do to clean up my computer, but there still seems to be some other explanation for my original problem. I am running XP, and I have done extensive work in with a moderator in the "Am I Infected" area. I am onto the second attempt to figure out what is going on with my notebook. ![]()
